Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage
Appearance
Carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) is the process by which carbon dioxide (CO2) is extracted from a stream before the stream is released to atmosphere, and then transported to either a long-term storage location or used in a stable product.[1]
CCUS is different from Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR). CDR is the process by which CO2 is directly extracted from air and isolated from the atmosphere in geological, terrestrial, or ocean reservoirs.[1]
