Transport of Carbon Dioxide

Transport of Carbon Dioxide refers to any system that moves CO2 between a capture facility and a storage facility.

There are four primary types of CO2 transport:

  1. Pipeline transport (gas/dense/supercritical phase)
  2. Ship transport (liquid phase)
  3. Truck transport (liquid phase)
  4. Rail Transport (liquid phase)

Each transport system has it's advantages and disadvantages, surmised in the table below
