== About CCUS Wiki == <big>''Docendo discimus''</big> <br> "By teaching, we learn" - Attributed to Seneca the Younger CCUS Wiki is a volunteer initiative to provide a central resource to share, confirm, and reference information relating to Carbon Capture, Utilisation, Transport, and Storage. We pay homage to those initiatives that have come before, such as the MIT Carbon Capture and Sequestration Project Database, the SCCS Global CCS Map, the Global CCS Institute's CO2RE database and many, many more sources on projects, industries and technologies alike. == About the Team == The team comprises of a group of international experts of CCUS. All are volunteers providing their contributions in an effort to ensure that CCUS deployment reaches maturity in time for our climate targets. === Would you like to contribute? === Contributions are welcome from all. Everyone on this planet has some piece of information that is valuable - it is an honour to be able to facilitate this knowledge sharing. == About the Logo == The logo is modelled after ''Yggdrasil'', the Norse world tree. The tree links the Nine Realms and extends beyond. Odin, the Allfather in Norse Mythology, is said to have hung himself from a branch of Yggdrasil, impaling himself with his own spear. For nine long nights, he dangled there, suspended between life and death, in a state of self-imposed sacrifice. As he hung there, peering into the depths of the cosmos and the mysteries of the spirit, Odin finally glimpsed the truths he sought. The runes revealed themselves to him, imparting their wisdom and power. This act of sacrifice and enlightenment is a testament to Odin’s role as a god of wisdom and magic, and it highlights Yggdrasil’s connection to knowledge and the mystical realms. Various other mythologies and religions relate to a tree of knowledge, extending it's roots and branches far an wide to encompass knowledge. For the CCUS Wiki, it represents the connectedness and wide ranging nature of the CCUS sector. The roots of this sector spread firmly across the land, whilst strong branches reach to the various different sectors to act to decarbonise. In it's simplest form, a tree is the first carbon capture unit. We are only building a better one.
